The day started with excitement about a pigeon in the club premises. The pigeon actually looked intelligent when it was trying to avoid human contact until it flew “thump” into a closed window and was dazed for about 20 mins I think. Then halfway through a rather exciting episode of Mononoke it flew again, distracting us from an crucial scene.....was that suspense even...yeah yeah know that you now want to know just what was the crucial scene.
Mononoke: Episode 9: Nue
This was possibly one of my favourite episodes in Mononoke, will explain why later. We see the incense game continuing with the Apothecary hosting it this time, he explains that he will host it provided that the three gentlemen in the game tell him what the Toudaiji is. Hence the game begins. The game this time is Princess Kaguya and Okina. The first incense is given and the suitors find that the incense in neither princess Kaguya or Okina. Before the second incense is given the Apothecary has an oops moment, he informs the contestants that he has mistakenly added a branch of Oleander in one of the samples and he does not know which, now the thing about the Oleander is that if sniffed it is lethal and he does not have the antidote for it. So the game resumes, the incense in presented and the contestants dreadingly sniff the sample presented to them. When Muromachi sniffs his sample the Apothecary reveals that he killed the original fourth suitor. He is then sucked into the room he killed Jissonji in. The remaining contestants are bewildered. The next round begins, here the Apothecary reveals that Nakarai killed Lady Rurehemi, in a fit of rage when he visited her room to confess his love to her and thinks that he has seen her with someone else. He is the sucked into Rurehemi’s room. By the beginning of the next round of incense game is when the pigeon flies again, and I missed this part, I think the last contestant is sucked into the walls of the house. Now guess what, I was right !!(grinning, with a completely superior expressions on the face) we see that the mononoke is indeed the Toudaiji. The mononoke is formed with the want that people have for the Toudaiji. Then in a display of rarely seen occurrence, we see the complete soul slayer form and power. At this point the animation is bright and colourful as the apothecary fights an incredible battle showcasing his excellent fighting skills, the mononoke is defeated and the place that housed the toudaiji is shown as run down house. Thus ends this arc. Man I love this show.
Karas: Episode 3: Destruction awakening.
In this episode we meet a whole load of characters in detail (i think). We know that the Yokai are the demons coexisting with humans and the Mikura are monsters which need to feed on human blood to live. And Nue the guy with the golden pistols is one of these, at the beginning of the episode we start off where we ended the last time a faceoff between Karas and Nue, who has transformed into his demon form. Also in the picture is a little girl Youkai with little bee horns and a bee-like face. She pleads to Karas to not harm Nue while the girl with the white hair and goggles orders him to do so. Karas on the other hand has his own reasons for not harming Nue. Nue then flees the place and little bee girl thanks Karas and leaves. We then see Nue in an abandoned railway compartment bleeding some green goo out of his stomach. Little bee girl brings him some blood to drink which he refuse to take and scares her away. We also see the headquarters of Ekou who is the bad guy and are shown something mysterious with glowing red eyes. Meanwhile Inspector Kuze seems to know something about the Karas and Mikura seems to be looking for something. There is an attack on the hospital. And the Karas is there to fight the Spider Mikura which is the cause of the disturbance. While the Karas is fighting, we see another girl with white hair and goggle and her Karas, and she says no matter the outcome, they will not interfere. Here they realise that the Mikura was merely a distraction and the target is something or someone else, and the Karas goes back to the hospital and finds that he has weakened. Meanwhile we see that the girl with the white hair whose Karas is fighting is taken captive by the Spider Mikura that the Karas was fighting, in the hospital we see a different Mikura in the room where Karas’s actual body is kept. Co incidentally the bee girl happens to be there too. Just as the Youkai is about to attack the body, the Karas flies in but since he is weakened he is defeated and splinters into feathers. Again the Mikura is about to attack and then time around Nue comes flying firing and stops him, we see that Nue is weak as well at this time Karas’s body gets up and slashes the Miruka and saves the day killing the MIruka ......Yeah Karas!!!! Thus ends the Episode.
Panda with a lot of enthusiasm says “the animation is awesome” and we agree wholeheartedly. I’d agree more if I could understand the anime better.
Galaxy Express 999: Episode 7: The Graveyard at the bottom of gravity, Part 1.
The producers of Galaxy are on a constant endeavour to get Tetsuroe to understand that having an immortal body is not all that it cranked up to be, but Tetsuroe being Tetsuroe refuses to learn and this week hopefully they will get through( NOT). Oh yeah and not forgetting Maetel who initially offered to take him there, but seems sad every time he talks about it. In this episode the Galaxy Express on its way to the destination speeds up to the speed of light, we see bolts of something I presume that they are trying to imitate light shoot past the train. Mean while at the control center on earth, they talk about a missing 333 train and seems to want to warn the999 about it. At the same time the 999 encounters a strange cloud like field and is falling through it. And conductor warns Tetsuroe and Maetel and gets Tetsuroe to sit next to Maetel instead of opposite her....how that would helps beats me. Anyway, while he is telling them this the train is falling. By the time the train seems to be getting a semblance of control they crash into the 333. They go to investigate and find that the train which had gone missing 2 days ago, seems like it was missing for over a couple of centuries. We see skeletons....mind you lots of them...which I think is strange since we hardly ever see any humans on the 999. Anyway, we also see the reason for the train being that way, enter Ryuzuu san, who seems to know Maetel well....mmhh interesting!!.. So she wants to take Tetsuroe and threatens Maetel that she will speed up time if she interferes, which would not affect her but would harm Tetsuroes, at this time she lets them leave, Ryuzuu takes Tetsuoroe to a rather nice looking space vehicle and mocks Tetsuroe about how Maetel did not save him, Tetsuroe cries and is bewildered like us as to how she did not interfere.....this brings us to an end of this episode.
Until next time.
Trinity

Right now, the Galaxy Express 999 has moved out of the solar system .... and now that the setting is at the mercy of the director's imagination, I am looking forward to some interesting places. :D
